Awhitia Mihaere

Awhitia Mihaere is a world renowned Tohunga and healer descended from the Ngāti Kahungunu, Maniapoto, Rangitāne, and Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki iwi of Aotearoa.

Awhitia Mihaere, traditional Māori medicine.

She comes from a lineage of Tohunga deeply rooted in rongoā Māori – traditional Māori medicine – and ancestral healing practices.

Guided by a sacred calling, Awhitia’s life work is to first heal Papatuānuku, the Earth Mother, who has long borne the sacrifices of humanity. Her healing extends into Māori communities across the country, particularly among those of her own tribal lines, where she supports spiritual and physical restoration.

An unwavering advocate for the rights of
her people, Awhitia stands for the protection and rightful recognition of ancestral medicinal and spiritual practices. She ensures that rites
of passage are preserved and accessible for future generations.

From their first meeting on the powerful Buddha Purnima full moon, Awhitia and Mohanji connected deeply, recognising an ancient bond and a powerful joint connection to Mahavatar Babaji.

Awhitia’s healing journey and voice are featured in several documentaries, including her most recent works ‘Mauri and Eternal Song’, which capture the essence of her connection to spirit, whenua, and the ongoing revitalisation of Māori healing.
